Hello: A Decker family lived in Ulster County, NY late 18th and early 19th
century. Some of them went to Hancock County, ILL. An Eli Decker lived
there and became related to one of my families. The only research I ever did
on this family was that they came from Ulster County, NY. Since it was not
my direct line, I didn't do any more research and I don't know even know if I
kept any information, since it has been over 20 years ago..

However, out of the research came the fact that one of Brigham Young's twelve
wives was a Decker. Since I believe he married her in Navuoo and because the
Mormons had to leave Illinois, none of the Deckers in my family would ever
own up that they related to her. However, researching the woman can be very
easy because so much as been written about Brigham Young.
