1. David M. WELCH (b. 1802 probably at New Germantown, son of John Jacob
WELSH and Catherine CRATER) married Mary "Polly" DEAN (b. 1804). They lived
in Tewksbury Township before moving to Ohio. They were married September 25,
1824, according to their family Bible. Where did the marriage take place?

2. Who were Mary's parents? They named one of their children Stephen
Dean WELCH. Did they name this son after Mary's father? There was a Stephen
DEAN who married Elizabeth BUNN in about 1800 and lived in Lebanon
Township, Hunterdon County. I have three siblings for Mary: Barzilla,
Christiana, and Catherine, but I can't prove their parentage. Can anyone
help me with the DEAN family?

3. John Jacob WELSH married Catherine CRATER around 1794-95. Where? He
died in 1810 leaving his widow with nine minor children. She was given the
farm where she lived at New Germantown by her father-in-law William WELSCH,
Jr. and she raised the children there by herself. She died in 1845 and is
buried in Zion Evangelical Lutheran Churchyard in Oldwick. Is her husband
also buried there? Need any information about John Jacob and Catherine's
family.

4. My great-grandfather, Jacob Welch, mentions in his diary the names of
aunts and uncles: Jacob and Julia Amanda (GULICK) WELCH; William and Esther
(WELCH) SUTTON; and Silas and Catherine (DEAN) WALTERS who he visited as he
was returning home to Ohio after the end of the his service in the Union
Army during the Civil War. He was given several Carte-de-Visite photographs
of cousins, taken mostly in Flemington, during his visit. Can anyone tell me
about these families?
