I couldn't quite make out whether that query that came via Al Sinclair about
the Young family was Pam's or was being forwarded from another researcher?

I am interested in Youngs in Hunterdon, but very, very early ones.

I have an Elizabeth Young/Jung, born 1720 whose parents were named John and
Margaret. She married Peter Metz ca. 1749 and in 1758 one of their
daughters, Maria Dorothea, was baptized by the Rev. Daniel Schumacher "at
Jersey." One of the sponsors was named Conrad Junge. When Peter bought his
property in Plainfield Township, Northampton Co., PA (where this family then
lived and farmed for generations) he was referred to in the 1758 deed as
"yeoman from Greenwich, Sussex County, NJ." There was a Heinrich Young/Jung
in Plainfield Twp, b. abt 1730, who was probably a son of John and Margaret.

My persistent belief is that they don't relate to the several Young/Jung
families of Northampton Co., but instead connect to ones from New Jersey and
probably from Amwell, where there were German Youngs living. But "John,"
"Margaret" and "Elizabeth" are pretty generic given names. The NJ Archives
are full of Youngs from Hunterdon from these early years.
