Hi Bob & Tracie Lefler,

Lefler Hill Road is in Raritan Township about 2 or 3 miles West of Flemington. It comes off of County Route 523 and goes up the hill and comes out on County Route 579.

My parents were friends with a Lefler family, because the name is familiar to me. Unfortunately, both of my parents are deceased. I don't believe they (Leflers) had any children my age or I would have remembered them. I am retired, so it has been a very long time since I heard the name. Sorry, but I can't provide more information.

When you do get here to do your genealogic research, you must plan to stay a while. The county records are excellent and most are kept in Flemington. The Hunterdon County Historical Society has extensive collections on family names, books, maps, newspapers, etc. that you could spend many hours if you are as fanatical about your heritage as some of us!

OK, while we are looking! And as I live a long way away and would like to make a trip someday, where is Lefler Hill Road? I understand it is just outside of Flemmington and back in the 1960s some Leflers lived on a farm there and sold veges. Who were these Leflers? I think mine lived in Greenwich,Oxford,Lebanon from 1750s to 1830s.My 3ggrandfather was Christopher Lefler/Loeffler,etc, of Lebanon when he was married in 1812 at Zion Lutheran Church-then went,as other Leflers, to the Finger Lakes.That's all!
