Hi All
I was wondering if any of you out there might have some answers for Judy
Martin. She belongs to a Quilt Club and they have a quilt from Hunterdon
County. In past emails the names were listed. She has some other
questions and I was hoping that some of you out there might be able to
answer them.
Thanks for all your help her email is Judy Martin -

>Dear Marietta,
>I've been flat out gathering information about 'our' quilt.....haven't
>found out everything, but have gathered an amazing amount.
>There are many couples, their children, neighbours and a few we have
>designated 'waif's and strays'! I have had a wonderful time deliving back
>into the 1850's and have made some online contacts who have been so
>helpfull and generous with their time and information...your self included.
>In one of your emails you said that Conrad Pickel's wife was Anna [Hannah]
>Gertrude [Sharp] Sharfenstine...do you have certain information of that
>name change and do you know if in the 1850's there was a member of the
>family called mary Sharp/Sharps? According to the 1850 census there was a
>Mary Sharps living with the Thatcher family...is there any chance she is
>part of your family tree?
>Of the 35 names on the quilt we now have pretty conclusive proof of the
>identity of 23 and patchy stuff on all but 3.David M Heller, Jane Dilly
>and Sarah Elizabeth Fine..there is nothing [so far] on them. Sarah
>Elizabeth is driving me crazy...I somehow feel that she is the key...her
>name is beside the dedication and I feel she either made the quilt or it
>was for her...but WHY???????
>I'd be delighted to hear if you have any clues.
>Oops! Forgot to tell you that almost everyone lives in/was born in,
