LDS film 0805493 contains a surname index of records in the county clerks
office, and would like to obtain copies of the actual records.

Would some kind soul please tell me the best way to obtain the records.

The LDS did not copy these records ... only did the surname, type of
document, and number index.

Write to the clerk's office and give them the name and the type of document
and the number index you are looking for. Ask them how much it would be to
obtain the record. They should write back with the information you want and
then send you the copies upon payment. An alternative would be to write a
check for say $10 and include a note that if there are more documents than
this amount covers to please advise how much the balance would be.
