Dan,
I had ancestors in the Trenton areas of Essex, Middlesex and Cumberland.
Many of those people left there and went into PA, VA and IL. From that
area many settled near St. Clair Co. IL, or nearby counties as did mine.
Some stayed in So. IL., others crossed the river into St. Louis and
points unknown. The name in this area is Daugherty, Dougherty, Doughty
and Doty.
Just a few thoughts, Yulonda in IL
