Rich,
I have seen non-sourced references to a Peter BELLIS (or variant of the
surname) being married to an Elizabeth FISHER but would love to know where
this information is coming from.
Do you show Elizabeth FISHER as the d/o Johann Peter FISHER (of Neuwied, GE,
which is where BELLESFELTs were from) and Anna Maria JUNG (YOUNG)? If so,
do you have any primary or secondary source on this info?
Do you show any of Elizabeth's siblings or FISHER cousins moving to
southwest PA, OH, or KY circa 1780s-90s?
Are you familiar with the Mary FULPER BELLIS who married Philip YOUNG after
the death of Mr. BELLIS? If so, do you know whether Philip YOUNG is related
to Anna Maria JUNG?
Thanks for any shred of light you might shine :)

Roz I do not have any leads on Eli Young, but I did have a Peter Bellis that
may be the Peter that you referenced. The Peter that I know of was the son
of Peter Bellos and Elizabeth Fisher of Hunterdon County. I had Peter's
birth at abt 1752. I this Peter with siblings Philip and Mary. I have more
on these Fisher's, but nothing more on Bellis.

Does anyone recognize this Eli YOUNG:
Eli YOUNG had a farm in Trumbull Co., OH circa 1840's. According to DAR
application papers, Eli was married to Catherine BELLESFELT, b. 1793.
Per the "Official Roster of the SAR in the State of Ohio", a Rev War veteran
named Peter BELLESFELT, who died in 1844, was buried on the Eli YOUNG Farm,
located in the northeast corner of Farmington Twp., Trumbull Co OH.
Presumably, Peter was Catherine's father.
Peter claimed the following in his 29 Aug 1832 Rev War Pension application:
b. Feb 10, 1756, Flemington NJ
Lived in:
- Hamilton Twp., Northampton Co PA at outbreak of Rev War. Soon after war
commenced, moved to:
- Newton (?), Berks Co PA; claims to have fought as a Frontier Ranger; also
says he enlisted in 1780 in Philadelphia and fought under Gen. Mad Anthony
Wayne (Colonel Butler's Regiment?); served in Bergen. Went back to
Northampton after the war until circa 1788 when he moved to:
- Washington Co. PA where he lived until about 1827. (Note: Fallowfield
Twp., south of Pittsburgh, west of the Monongahela River). He then moved
to:
- Parkman, Geauga Co OH, circa 1827, and then to:
- Farmington, Trumbull Co OH, summer of 1832.
Would like to find out Eli YOUNG's pedigree. I see listed in the 1790
Census of Fallowfield TWP a Jacob YOUNG -- could this be Eli's father?
Thanks!
