Thanks for the info, even tho it didn't pertain to me or my tribe.
These days most churches have a website. When I designed the webpages for my church, Griggstown Reformed in Somerset Cty (link below), I deliberately added a page with the cemetery listings. Unfortunately, the cemetery trustees didn't want to give me all of the listings but I did get the older ones. For some reason they felt this wasn't public info. If we could only get local churches to realize the historic value of the stuff they have packed away.....

I am just back from NJ where I had 2 days of research time. I went to the
Cokesbury United Methodist Cemetery (1815 - 1892) and found my ancesters'
graves. The stones were very hard to read, but as luck would have it I found the
minister in and he had a book which had the inscriptions that were done in 1988
by Chris Cox, for an Eagle Scout project.
First of all, thanks to Chris if anyone knows of him...
I got a copy of the page with my relatives but the rest are in a notebook at
the church. There were many Apgars that I saw and on the page I got are
Philhower - Elizabeth, d 1864, Charity d 1821, Fanny d 1835, Andrew d 1843, Lydia
d 1842 (in italics all children), Apgar, John W. d 1878, Apgar, Hannah d 1817,
along with my relatives:
Potter, Daniel d 1860, Potter, Elizabeth (Abel, I believe) d 1842,
Potter, Hannah (Sutton, I believe) d 1850, and Potter, Daniel d 1856. Email me if
you need more info on these, I have a little more.
I am trying to call the historian of the church as the minister is quite
busy and he was kind enough to give me her number. If I should get her and get
any other info, I would be glad to share with the group. If anyone has any
ideas on getting this info out, please let me know. And if its already out and
I just went through the long way of researching, please let me know that also,
I can learn from my mistakes.
I did find the Potter grave inscriptions by Chris Cox 2 yrs ago at the
Tewksbury Historical Society. They were in the Potter file, so maybe some of them
can be found there also.
This is a great group and I would be happy to contribute in some small
way...
