Sorry if I poisted this twice.
I visited there two springs ago. It is not run by the Sandy Ridge Community Church (I think it is a Baptist Church) It is still around at 47 Sandy Ridge Road, Stockton, NJ. Unfortunately I lost the phone number and name of the person who runs it. So you'll have to contact the church and they will forward anything to the caretaker. You should know that there are more people buried there than there are headstones. That is why you will want to contact the caretaker. However, he did not seem to want to look anything up for me. So I had to visit the cemetery personally. He put me in a shed with a long table and watched me while I looked through his books.
I have a death certificate which lists my great great grandmother Emma Higgins Phillips as being buried there in 1945. However there is no headstone (I chekced each one) and no record in the caretaker's possession. He admits that things are a bit confused, and I believe there are some areas in the old section that appear to have open spaces for plots, but that they don't bury there because they are just not sure. I don't know what happened to there record keeping over the years, but they are not complete. That being said, you may be able to get some information on other people in the plot, or just confirmation of the bruial there and hopefully a headstone to snap a picture of.
By the way, there are new headstones in the cemetery as well.
Pam Bush might have further info, she contacted me after I went (and I had the same sorry answers for her). I don't know if she ever contacted the caretaker though.
RESEARCHING the HIGGINS, PHILLIPS, HOPE, LOMERSON families in that area (and are buried there - maybe?)
