Subject: [NJHUNTER] Slack Ferry info found!! Please read

Hello fellow Listers,

Good news! A lead from a fellow lister led me to
contact an employee at the Washington Crossing
National Park. The Park Ranger informed me that not
only was there a James Slack that leased the ferry but
that he assisted or was involved in George
Washington's famous crossing of the Delaware- probably
in his ferry!
I also found a reference to a map showing the route of
the ferry. This all checks out with my (and Dave's)
research. James Slack was the son of Cornelius H.
Slack and Johanna Van De Water.
I am still in the process of collecting the data and
proof and will post it as soon as possible.

Special thanks go out to Tom, Barb, Nancy and everyone
who responded to my inquiries. Pat yourselves on the
back!!!!

Carl
