My Gordon family is actually from Monmouth Co., but my particular ancestor
was in Hunterdon Co., near Hopewell, from at least about 1780 - 1798. This
was Lewis Gordon, married to Keziah Stout (daughter of John Stout & Mabel
Sexton). Lewis's brother was Maj. Peter Gordon (m. Susanna Hunt) who had a
farm in Hopewell and later moved to become a merchant in Trenton. Peter was
a Quartermaster in the Rev. War and there are numerous records related to
him, but few related to Lewis.
