Shouldn't that be Musconetcong ?

What were the names of the children?

The ROBINS clan is a confusing bunch. I believe there were at least two
distinct and unrelated (as far as I can figure) ROBINS/ROBBINS families
which lived in the northern part of Hunterdon Co around the same time
period ... mid 1700s to early 1800s. And to add to the confusion similar
given names were used in several generations of both families. There are
seemingly countless John ROBINS/ROBBINS and Jonathan ROBINS/ROBBINS
running around during that time period.

In one ROBINS line there was a "Col Sr" and "Col Jr" ROBINS, both with a
given name of Jonathan. In another ROBINS line there was a Jonathan
ROBINS who first shows up in Alexandria Twp in 1751 when he bought land
from the "Widow" MERRILL. A building stands on this land today which I
believe could date back to the late 18th century. The land is located on
route 579 in Alexandria twp a few miles south of Bloomsbury. There is a
winery on that land today.

It is possible that the Jonathan ROBINS who bought land from the "Widow"
MERRILL is the same John ROBINS as mentioned above, spouse of Catherine
------. If you can name the children it might help pinpoint things a
little bit.

Much has been written about this Daniel ROBINS. He could be the single
ancestor of all the ROBINS showing up in Hunterdon Co, however further
research is needed.
