Subject: [NJHUNTER] OLD PHOTO OF KATHERINE BLACK
Date: Tue, 28 Oct 2003 16:33:50 EST

Dear List,

While at a flea market in TX, I purchased a 2 1/2 X 4 1/2 inch "cabinet card"
with a small enlongated oval photo of a little girl with long curls.  On the
front of the the card is the name of the photographer, which may be "Poerk",
and the name of the town, Lambertville, NJ. (Hunterdon Co.)

On the back of the photo it is written, "Katherine Black, 7 years old" at the
top, and at the bottom it says, "For Helen".  I suspect this old photo was
taken in the early 1900's.  It is in very good condition.  The photo is clear
and has no damage, at all. The child has enlongated curls and a loose blouse
type dress-top with a lace collar.  I would probably date this photo 1900-1920.
But the child was 7 years of age whenever it was taken.

If you may be a descendant, or are interested in this photo, please contact
me privately.  I attempt to find old photos with some ID, and return them to
their families or to a genealogical/historical society in the specific county.
Most of the old photos have no info on them, but a few do, and they deserve to
be saved, if possible.

Sincerely,

Judy in TX
