By the way, in going through some of the family files at the Hunterdon
Co. Historical Society, I have found instances where Mr. Deats has annotated
things as being "from the papers of Capt. John Bellis".
Captain John Bellis was the real name of the "Jay Bee" who is the
author of the "Recollections of Baptistown". Mr. Deats obviously saw in him a
valuable source of genealogical information.
The original articles from the newspapers are pasted on paper and are
found in two little old raggedy black notebooks on the shelves directly
opposite the obituary card files.
