A while ago, I started posting excerpts from Charles Stryker's Fillips series printed in the Lambertville Beacon in 1933. Here are two further instalments for those interested in the Phillips and related lines.

21, Samuel Phillips, b. March 20, 1766, d. Dec. 7, 1849, married Rebecca Phillips, daughter of Thomas Phillips. She was born June 9, 1766 and died Oct. 28, 1829. They are both buried and have gravestones in the Winder Phillips family yard. (See Indenture May 26, 17-4, Liber 2, page 107, Hunterdon Co. Clerkss Office, Court House, Flemington, N.J. Samuel Phillips and Cousin Rebecca Phillips had:
58, Asa; 59, Sara d. July 12, 1869-74-11-22 Mt. Airy, never married; 60, John; 61, Catherine; 62, Hannah, never married; 63, Rebecca; 64, Elizabeth; 65, Jane.
58, Asa, b. Feb. 10, 1792, d. March 31, 1871, 79-1-21, stone at Mt. Airy. Married first __? Elgerdon; second Mary Lambert, d. March 26, 1874, 87, stone at Mt. Airy, dau. of Jeremiah and had by first wife:
66, Alpheus Phillips; 67, Rebecca; Phillips; 68, Cornelia Phillips; 69, Caroline Phillips.
66, Alpheus Phillips, b. Aug. 9, [1]851, d. March 22, 1903, buried Harbourton, N.J., married Mary Wilson (see 363) dau. of Aaron Wilson and Sara (Larison) Wilson. (See Larison Family p. 124.)
They had: 70, Carmen W. Phillips; 71, Sara Franc[e]s Phillips; 72, Josephine V. Phillips; 73, Annie L. Phillips; 74, Mary H. Phillips, m. Francis M. Wilson, of Stockton, N.J., and she died Jan. 15, 1910; 75, Onilda J., b. 1865, m. Samuel Hart; 75a, Elizabeth A., Stone at Mt. Airy.
70, Carmen W. Phillips, b. 1851, lives at Harbourton, married Mary Ella Wilson, b. 1849 and had:
76, Joseph W. Phillips, b. 1879, who had son Leon C. Phillips, b. 1916, d. 1924, Harbourton Yd.
71, Sara Franc[e]s Phillips, married Oliver Titus, Hopewell, 1932. They had 77, Sarah Titus; 78, Edith Titus.
72, Josephine V. Phillips married George Woolsey and had: 79, Lizzie Woolsey.
73, Annie L. Phillips married Geo. Whitenack.
63, Rebecca Phillips married Phillip Cole and had a daughter 80, Lurilla Cole (perhaps more). She married William Hortman and had at least one daughter 81, Rebecca Hortman, who married Jan. 26, 1881, by Helsey, Geo. Cherry, n. Nov. 19, 1856, and they had 82, Cora Cherry; 83, Isaac Cherry, married Carrie Case and had a daughter Blanche Cherry. He has been Grand Secretary of the Grand Lodge, F. & A.M. of New Jersey for over fourteen years.
68, Cornelia Phillips married George Gardner Phillips, generally called Gardner Phillips, see No. 387. They had:
84, Lemuel H. Phillips, b. Oct. 8, 1859, d. May 28, 1896; 85, Wilbert Phillips, b. August 2, 1869, d. March 11, 1896 (Stone, Rock M.E. Church); 86, Caroline E. Phillips, m. George Runkle, two children dead (1930); 87, Viola Phillips, b. August 10, 1874, d. August 1874; 88, Mary Lucretia Phillips, married Charles H. Roberts, one child dead (1930); 89, Ella Madora Phillips; 89a, Alvaretta Phillips, married Elwood Rhodenbaugh (three children living 1930); 90, Van Doren Phillips, b. and d. 1874.
89, Ella Madora Phillips mother died when she was young, and she lived with her aunt Mrs. Richard Hunt, 381. She married John E. Matthew, son of Alex and had for descendant (See 429).
69, Caroline Phillips married Charles L. Hunt.
64, Elizabeth Phillips married Ralph Schenck, Nov. 28, 1826 and had: 93, John Schenck, married Swem; 94, Jacob Schenck, went West when young; 95, Samuel Schenck, m. Ann Holcombe; 96, Hannah Schenck, m. Joseph Farlee; 97, Emily Schenck, m. Elie Greenwood (no children); 98, Kate Schenck, m. William Budd; 101 [the 3 number rise from 98 to 101 is not known], Rebecca Ann Schenck, m. Chas. Lambert (no children).
60, John Phillips, d. Sept. 11, 1869, buried at Mt. Airy, stone 73-10-24, married Hannah Lanning, d. Dec. 18, 1878, stone 82-2-17, Mt. Airy.
They had: Samuel Phillips, m. Ann Fish; John Phillips, m. __ Sibbett, d. Lambertville about 1912; Hester Catherine Phillips, m. Charles Servis; William Phillips, m. __?; Susan Phillips, m. __?; Emmaline Phillips.

22, Sarah Phillips, b. June 6, 1768, no records.
23, Jane Phillips, b. Feb. 5, 1771, no records.
24, Rachel Phillips, b. July 5, 1774, (Somerset & Hunterdon Co. History, p. 546.) In a list of advertised letters at Lambertville, N.J., Jan. 7, 1828, is one addressed to Miss Rachel Phillips.
25, John Phillips, b. June 30, 1776. In the old papers is one dated May 27, 1827, and is a note from John Phillips to William Logan, which I take to be to this John. I have no other records of him.
27, Hannah Phillips, b. June 1, 1783, d. May 25, 1879, married William Hagaman, b. Aug. 17, 1783, and d. May 3, 1863, and they had:
102, Elizabeth; 103, Charity; 104, Ezekial; 105, Hiram; 106, Sarah; 107, Mary; 108, Esther; 109, Rebecca; 110, William B.; 111, Abraham R.; 112, Miranda.
103, Charity Hagaman married William Fleming and had 113 Joseph Warren Fleming, of Titusville, N.J., perhaps more.
17, Lott Phillips, b. 1754, d. Dec. 20, aged 66 years; buried in Winder-Phillips farm yard, has a stone. He was a private in Revolutionary War. He lived in the old stone house above where Stevenson Phillips later lived, on the Winder-Phillips farm. He and John Phillips settled their fathers (Peters) estate, and Lott was one of the men who took an inventory of his uncles Theophilus Moore, estate. (p. 465 Descendants of Rev. John Moore). He married Elizabeth Titus, who d. Apr. 11, 1830, aged 76 years, and buried at Winder-Phillips farm yard. (See Cooleys Early Settlers of Ewing and Trenton). Elizabeth Titus was a sister of Uriel Titus and daughter of Joseph Titus, of Titusville, N.J., a descendant of Robert Titus and wife, who came from England in 1635 to Weymouth, Mass., thence to R.I., thence to L.I. His grandson John, came to Amwell, N.J.
They had: 114 John L. Phillips and 115 Jonathan Phillips (twins), 116 Gideon, 117 Uriah, 118 Lott, 119 Joseph.
114, John L. Phillips, b. Mar. 13, 1785, d. Nov. 9, 1837; buried at Mr. Airy, has a gravestone. Married Nov. 1, 1806, by Grant, Charity Large, who d. Sept. 23, 1846, 60th year. Stone at Mt. Airy. They had: 120 Harriet, 121 Mary Ann, 122 Rebecca, 123 Jonathan, 124 Mehetabel, 124a Elizabeth, b. Dec. 26, 1808.
120, Harriet Phillips, b. Dec. 4, 1824, d. Apr. 14, 1921, 97 years old, and is buried in Union Cemetery, at Ringoes, N.J. Oct. 16, 1844, she married George Washington Cherry, who was b. Aug. 3, 1823, d. Feb. 14, 1901, buried Union Cemetery, Ringoes.
They had:
125, Isaac, b. July 16, 1846, bachelor, harness maker. D. Durango, Colo.
126, John, b. July 26, 1851, d. at Ringoes, Dec. 11, 1906, and buried Union Cemetery.
127, George Cherry, married Rebecca Hortman (See No. 81 for descendants).
128, Mary, b. Oct. 11, 1867, Married Jonas Pittenger. Mary Cherry and Jonas Pittenger had three children: 129 Harriet Pittenger, b. Nov. 9, 1893, married Norman Fulper, and have three children. 130, Sadie Pittenger, b. Oct. 14, 1895, married Algrove Barber, Dec. 19, 1914. 131, Elsworth Pittenger, b. Oct. 19, 1903.
121, Mary Ann Phillips, b. Feb. 2, 1816, d. Feb. 16, 1903; 88th year. Married Feb. 2, 1837, Andrew Larrison, b. Oct. 2, 1803, d. Jan. 12, 1885, son of Andrew the "Drover". They had:
132 David W. Larrison, 133 John Phillips Larrison, d. Aug. 4, 1846, in 8th year.
132, David W. Larrison, b. May 10, 1844, living 1932 at Hopewell, N.J., married Nov. 9, 1864, Sarah Ann Wilson; married second wife, Rhoda (Drake) Quick. See No and had by first wife: 135 John Phillips Larrison, 136 Mary Caroline Larrison, 137 Cora May Larrison, 138 Howard Wilson Larrison.
135, John Phillips Larrison, b. July 12, 1868, married Nov. 9, 1887, Bessie D. Matthew, and they had: 139, Jordan N. Larrison, 140 David Larrison, d. 1903.
136, Mary C. Larrison, b. Mar. 24, 1867, married Nov. 1886, Charles E. Holcombe, som of William, and they had 142, Myrtle, married Sam Hunt; 143 Paul, married Helen Bellis; 144 Raymond Larrison, married ___? ___? Whiteside; 146 Harold Larrison.
