My family, William Chamberlin and his son, John Chamberlin (and family) moved
to Ontario County, NY in 1825 (which was north rather than west). Both are
buried in Ohio many years later. They moved about the time the Erie Canal
opened. I stumbled upon them, by accident in Ohio, when asking myself the
question, what was my great grandfather from Michigan doing in Ohio? In checking
the local county history I found his grandparents and great grandparents
mentioned in the biographical section and the grandparents in the local cemetery.
Did anyone else have the migration pattern from Hunterdon to Western NY to
Vienna, OH or near Columbus, OH?
