I grew up in Pennington but had to wait til I was 58 to find that the modern house in which I had lived was actually on ground once owned by a GGGGG grandparent - one of the Moores you've listed. My neighbor and friend was a Blackwell. His family was also far from new to the area! It's interesting to see what happened to all those members of the family who moved away!

The people who fled from Hopewell to Hampshire Co. eventually came to
Rowan Co., NC along with others who came directly from NJ to NC to what
was called "The Jersey Settlement" - hence the title of this article.
She covers the entire history of what happened and included in this
articles is the petition that the 50 men signed in Hopewell in protest -
their names are all listed. It is a very good article and I recommend it
to anyone interested in this topic of discussion.
