Hi Susan,
I am very interested in finding out the "truth" of my ancestors, and
appreciate your comments and research efforts. I have not seen any credible
evidence to support any claims on the Andrew Smith descendants, and would
really like to know where I can see your sources. I have a completely open
mind, and am only interested in knowing the truth. There is much to learn
about my Smith family, and would love to learn as much information that is
available.
Please let me know what sources you have, and how I can get copies of them.
I think that primary sources and original records are the only way to truly
find the "truth".
The sources I have a not the best, and are:
1. An unpublished work by George W. Hart, "THE DESCENDANTS OF ANDREW SMITH",
1972
2. "Pioneers of Old Hopewell", by Ralph Ege, 1908
3. "Hopewell Valley Heritage", by Alice Blackwell Lewis, 1973.
4. "Genealogy of Early Settlers in Trenton and Ewing "old Hunterdon County",
New Jersey", by Eli F. Cooley and William S. Colley.
I don't fully trust any of these sources, and would love to find out the
"Real" Family History. I think this could be a very interesting project,
and our ancestors deserve it.
