Subject: [NJHUNTER] Certificates VOORHIES/VORHEES
Hi Jan:

...Is there a date related with the entry on page 208 re: Abraham
VOORHEES? Abraham was born in the 1720's and had sons by two wives. My
direct ancesor Isaac VOORHEES served as a soldier in the Revolution and
was from the first marriage.
Abraham had a Minna/Minne, James and Jacque by the 2nd marriage
according to my records. Any additional entries for Abraham would be
appreciated.

Bill and the list:

I don't have the beginning message where you are thanking Jan for a lookup so
I can't comment on what she might have sent you. However, for all Voorhees
(variously spelled) researchers there is a Van Voorhees Association and they
have published a book in 2000 called The Van Voorhees Family in America The
First Six Generations -- to which your Abraham is mentioned on page 110-111 with
the listing of his wives and the children born of both marriages.

I happen to have purchased the book and if you want me to verify the line for
this Abraham, please advise.

For those who want to purchase the book you can contact Gateway Press, Inc.,
1001 N. calvert Street, Baltimore, MD 21202. If my memory serves me, I think
the book was about $60 or thereabouts.

If anyone wants to contact the association, their address as of 2000 was The
Van Voorhees Association, c/o Mrs. Frederick Brack, 24 Mary Street, North
Haledon, NJ 07508.

I'm sure that people may want to inquire if there is ever going to be an
update with new information on lines they find in the book to bring the lines
current can probably check by contacting the association directly.
