PLEASE NOTE - The following newspaper clippings are from a collection found
after my great Aunt passed away. She unfortunately made no note of what paper
they came from or the date. I felt they may still provide important clues for
somebody and other listers agreed so I have been posting them regardless.

Whitehouse Couple Wed at KRAUSS Home Saturday

The marriage of Miss Sophie KRAUSS, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. George KRAUSS of Whitehouse Station, and Vincent Francis ROCHE Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. V.F. ROCHE, also of Whitehouse Station, was solemnized Saturday at the home of the bride. Rev. Henry F. SENNE, pastor of the Reformed Church, performed the ceremony.

The bride wore a gown of white organdie made in the princess style and a white net hat. She carried a shower bouquet of pink roses and baby's breath. The maid of honor, Miss Kathryn ROCHE, sister of the bridegroom, wore a yellow crepe dress with a net jacket and a green net hat and green slippers. Her bouquet was pale pink roses and baby's breath. Henry KRAUSS of Astoria, L.I., brother of the bride, was best man.

About 125 guests attended the reception held in the fire-house auditorium. Mr. and Mrs. ROCHE will reside at the home of the bride's parents and later will take a trip to Niagra Falls. The bride is a graduate of Somerville High School.

Baked Bridegroom

The exciting combination of becoming a bridegroom and sitting for a picture in the 100-degree heat of the Baker photographic studio here late Saturday afternoon proved just too much for Vincent ROCHE Jr. of Whitehouse Station. He waited until the camera had been focused on him and his bride, Miss Sophie KRAUSS, and then just "passed out of the picture."

Members of the bridal party vainly attempted to revive ROCHE and a hurry call was sent for the Rescue Squad of the Fire Department. The firemen responded quickly and within a few minutes had the wilted young newlywed in shape to leave the studio and soon afterward to start on his honeymoon.

YAWGER-ROCHE

Miss Kathryn E. ROCHE, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. V.F. ROCHE, of Whitehouse Station, and Charles H. YAWGER, son of Mr. and Mrs. Albert YAWGER, of Oldwick, were quietly married on Saturday evening at the Reformed Church parsonage in Somerville by Rev. David R. EVANS. The newly wedded pair were attended by Mr. and Mrs. Harry BUSH, of Whitehouse Station. After the wedding ceremony a reception was given at the home of Mr. and Mrs. BUSH. The bride was attractively
attired in brown chiffon velvet with hat and shoes to match. Mr. and Mrs. YAWGER will reside at Whitehouse Station. He is employed on the Hostetter estate at Oldwick.
