PLEASE NOTE - The following newspaper clippings are from a collection found
after my great Aunt passed away. She unfortunately made no note of what paper
they came from or the date. I felt they may still provide important clues for
somebody and other listers agreed so I have been posting them regardless.



Willard APGAR

Califon- Willard APGAR, 72, died Wednesday. He had left his house to hoe potatoes and failed to return for dinner. His brother Frank, seeking him, found him dead. Coroner Lester HUMPHREY said a heart attack was then cause of death. Mr. APGAR was a nurseryman and farmer.

He is survived by two other brothers, Charles of Oldwick and Howard of Mountainville, and four sisters, Mrs. Sigmund ANDERSON of High Bridge, Mrs. Charles APGAR of Annandale, Mrs. Phillip AUBEL of Califon and Mrs. Mabel TOMILOVICH of Mountainville.

Funeral services will be held tomorrow at 2 p.m. at the Coughlin Funeral Home by Rev. Bruce W. HALL of Fairmount and Califon Methodist churches. Burial will be in Fairmount Cemetery.



Arlene APGAR, 5, Dies In Hospital

Miss Arlene Claire APGAR, age 5 years 1 month, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Frank APGAR of Oldwick, died in Somerset Hospital early Monday morning following a long illness. Arlene was reentered in hospital last Tuesday and remained there until her death.

She is survived by her parents, two brothers, Frank and Edwin of Oldwick, her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles APGAR of Oldwick, and Mr. and Mrs. Charles RUNYON, of North Branch, with whom she had lived during the past several years; several aunts and uncles and cousins.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday afternoon at 2 p.m., from the Coughlin Funeral Parlors at Oldwick. Burial will be at the Oldwick Cemetery under the direction of Daniel J. Coughlin and Son.



Motorist Faces Tipsy Driving Charge

Bedminster- Frank APGAR of Main St., Oldwick, was charged with driving while intoxicated Wednesday after a car he allegedly was driving was in a collision in Rattlesnake Bridge Rd. He will be arraigned before Magistrate Raymond J. WOOLMAN in Bedminster Police Court.

According to Police Chief Floyd R. CHRISTIANSON, the Apgar car was in collision with a car driven by Miss Caroline A. BROOKS of Lamington. She was taken to Somerset Hospital, Somerville, for observation and was released yesterday at noon.



COUGHLIN - REED

Announcement has been made of the marriage of Miss Mabel REED, of Oldwick, and Daniel A. COUGHLIN, of Oldwick. The ceremony was performed in Maryland on Tuesday, August 19, 1947, by the Rev. George HOPKINS. The couple will reside in Oldwick. They spent their honeymoon in Atlantic City.



Pauline ROWE Married to Clarence C. BLAZURE

Gladstone - Announcement has been made of the marriage of Miss Pauline Audrey ROWE, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clarence G. ROWE, to Clarence Conover BLAZURE, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert BLAZURE of Hamilton Farm. The ceremony was performed September 1 in the Peapack Reformed Church by the Rev. Julius PROCHNAU, pastor.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore white satin, styled in princess lines, and carried a shower bouquet of white gladioli and rosebuds. Miss Meredith ROWE of Pottersville, maid of honor for her sister, was attired in pink taffeta and net and carried pink gladioli and rosebuds. Bridesmaid, Mrs. Robert SULLIVAN of Bedminster, wore blue taffeta and net and had yellow gladioli.

Robert SULLIVAN of Bedminster was best man., and ushers were Norman ROWE of Gladstone and D. Russell MILLS of Lebanon.

The couple will make their home with the bride's parents for the present.

The bride is a graduate of Bernardsville High School and her husband of Somerville High School.
