New Jersey in 1793 by James S. Norton might also be a help. It is a list of
all the men of NJ in the age bracket of 18-45 who were elligible for
military service as part of the NJ Militia, to be called up as needed.

In Alexandria, Hunterdon County, these Bellis men were in the NJ Militia:
Daniel Bellis, John Bellis, William Bellis, Peter Bellis, Phillip Bellis,
Harbert Bellis.

Adam, Andrew, John and Philip Bellowsfelt appear to be in Amwell Twp,
Hopewell and Kingwood twp

John Maxwell in Hopewell; William Maxwell in Bethlehem Twp. Several other
Maxwells in Essex Co.
Wm. Maxfell in Bridgewater Twp., Somerset Co.

Patrick Curren in Woodbridge, Middlesex Co.
Joseph Current in New Town, Sussex Co.
Joel Current in Lower Hopewell, Cumberland Co.
Joel or Jacob Current in Hopewell, Cumberland Co.

Bartons were all over NJ.

Pam
