Alice, I know that there was a Barton family that went to Virginia, and from
there to Kentucky, and were neighbors of the Daniel Boone family. There is
a historic Mill, Red Mill, that was owned and operated by an Elisha Barton,
who was part of this family. It is still in operation as a historic place.
Also, there was a James Current family which I have been trying to connect
to our William Current of Sussex Co., who moved to Monogalia Co., VA. If
you could help me figure out a migratory pattern that would give plausible
reason to connect the two Current families, I would be thrilled!

Roz and John and others....I am having a similar problem as Roz....I know
the Rightmire family was in Hunterdon, Morris, Somerset, and middlesex
Counties in New Jersey from about 1730 on...My branch went to Loudoun and
Monongalia Counties in Virginia...then dispersed to Ohio, Kentucky and
other points west. Not sure when they went to Virginia but know some were
their as early as 1785. My question is did New Jersey men go to New York to
enlist and could some of the men listed on the Fort Klock New York web site
be from New Jersey ??? And was their a migration from New Jersey into
Virginia around the time of the Revolutionary War ? Thanks for any
Help...Alice
