Hi All,

"Mrs. D" was my sixth grade teacher back at Pennington Grammar School. I had an emailed from her daughter this morning that Mrs. D had passed away yesterday in Florida. She had been battling pulmonary fibrosis for some time and had been under hospice care at her Florida home. She was still able to keep up with her email friends.

Here's part of the obit from the Trenton Times:

VENICE, FL - Phyllis Bowers D'Autrechy, 71, died Tuesday in Venice. Mrs. D'Atrechy, formerly of Pennington, was a former 67th grade teacher in the Riverton and Hopewell Valley Regional School Districts and retired as the archivist for Hunterdon County. She was very active in many genealogical and historical societies. She served as a founder and charter member of the Hopewell Valley Historical Society and trustee of the Hunterdon County Historical Society. She was the author of four books, several pamphlets and many articles of NJ and Hunterdon County interest. She also served as the first woman president of the Hopewell Valley YMCA and chairperson of its boys soccer and girls softball leagues. She was instrumental in founding the YMCA girls soccer program.

She was a former member of the Penelope Hart Chapter of the DAR and served as the chairperson of the Hopewell Valley Bicentennial Committee. She was the past historian of the First United Methodist Church of Pennington where she served as a Sunday school teacher and a member of its administrative board. She and her family were former members of the Egg Harbor Guade, a reenactment unit of the American Revolution.

.....Services will be held 11am Saturday at the Blackwell Memorial Home, 21 N. Main St, Pennington, burial will be at Pennington Cemetery. Friends may call 7-9 Friday at the memorial home.

Just thought you might like to know.
