Dear Vince,
The canal is no doubt, the "Feeder" of the Delaware and Raritan Canal.
It operated on the east side of the Delaware River, opposite New Hope PA to
Trenton New Jersey and was used as a water supply for the main part of the
(Central New Jersey) Delaware and Raritan Canal. It was also used to
transport the canal boats, if need be. They were coming down from Easton PA
and points further north. Some carried coal, iron, wood and farm products.
