Hi Joan,

They are two different cemeteries in two different towns.

The one I went to yesterday is the cemetery next to the Lower Valley
Presbyterian Church which is one block from Sliker Road on 513 in Califon
itself. The church office is in the church in a building attached to the
back of the church. While the cemetery is directly next to the church, the
church secretary told me that it is actually independent of the church, The
secretary told me that the cemetery is also known as Lower Valley Cemetery.

If you take Route 512 south through Califon you get to Fairmount and the
intersection of 512 and Route 517. There are three cemeteries on Route 517
(Old Turnpike Road)-one at the intersection and two further north on 517 if
you go north at the intersection. The larger one is listed as "Fairmount
Cemetery".

I haven't had a chance to check out that one but all of the names that were
listed on the Hunterdon list for Lower Valley Cemetery I did see there
yesterday. There may be similar family names in Fairmount.

Whoa!!! I need to take 2 steps back----
I was talking about the Fairmount Pres. Churchyard in Califon. It is
located
down the street from the church office. The church office is across the
street from ANOTHER large cemetery that is "out in the sun." Sorry if I got
confused. I'm not sure of the name of the "sunny" one across the
street---Is IT
LOWER VALLEY CEMETERY???
Joan
