A good resource! NARA published World War II enlistment records for
over nine million Army personnel at the following URL:

http://www.archives.gov/aad

This is strictly for Army enlistees, no records of officers or members
of other services, or for enlistments prior to about 1938. About 1.5
million records were not scanned in due to poor quality of original
documentation. Even so, there are a majority of records posted.
