Debbie,
I replied to you after you placed your first email to the Hunterdon list
on August 30, 2003 to tell you that a Thomas and Catherine ? "Ann" Jobs are
buried with tombstones still readable at Lamington Presbyterian Cemetery in
Bedminster Twp, Somerset Co, NJ, just a stone's throw from Oldwick in
Hunterdon Co. but he died 18 December 1829 and she died 26 Feb 1824. They
had 5 children: Margaret, James, Ann "Nancy" (who married Nathan Bush),
Elizabeth and Thomas, all living to adulthood and marrying. There are
several of us on this Hunterdon list who are researching this Jobs/Jobes
family. They and their children and grandchildren are documented in the
records of the Lamington church, and also in an orphan's court record naming
all the children and some grandchildren because two children (Ann Bush,
James A. Jobs) died before their parents, thus their minor children were
heirs at law to Thomas Jobes at his death in 1829. I tell you this so that
you are aware that there were several Thomas Jobs living at this time. Ours
was born about 1765. His wife was born 29 January 1767 in that she was aged
57 years and 28 days at her death on 26 Feb 1824.
