Hi, Marshall!

Let me see if I can explain this so that you will be able to understand. My
fingers are crossed in hopes that we might have a connection!

My husband is a descendant of the founder of the New York branch of the
Yawger family, Philip Yawger, who was born on June 22, 1753. Supposedly,
while still in New Jersey, Philip married Katherine Kuhl who was born March
25, 1755. John Yawger was one of Philip's sons.

Philip and Katherine had 11 children. Besides John, another one of their
children was a little girl, Catharine. On June 21, 1795, Catharine was
married to a Thomas Jobs, by a justice of the peace by the name of Reading.
Tragically, just 15 months after they were married, their lives came to an
end when they were struck by lightening while sleeping on the floor of their
home. Orphaned, was their only child, Samuel, who was adopted by
Catharine's parents, Philip and Katherine.

Somewhere, among all of my research papers, I know I have a reference that
states Thomas Jobs was residing "at Peter Kuhl's place".

One of my greatest desires is to find from which country Thomas Jobs'
ancestors are from!

If you have any further information on any of these people, I'd love to hear
back from you!!

May I ask how you fit in with these people? Are you by chance a descendant
of Else (Elizabeth?) KUHL (daughter of Christopher KUHL & Ann FISHER by my
records) and John YEAGER ?
