We know that Morris CRATER [CREATOR, KRETER, etc.] arrived from Germany aboard the "Mortonhouse" in 1729 and settled at Fox Hill [Fairmount} in 1749. We don't know where he lived between 1729 and 1749, but he probably married Elizabeth ? before 1739, the year of birth of his oldest child, Esther. Morris wrote his will in 1771 and he died at his home at Fox Hill in 1772, only a month after Elizabeth's death. I am descended from his son, Morris (1742-1806) who also lived all his life at Fox Hill. All members of the family are buried in Fairmount Presbyterian Churchyard.

Can anyone help me with this family, especially with Morris' birthplace in Germany, his wife's maiden name and his place(s) of residence in North America before 1749?
