i may have confused or reversed my linage on the shrope family, i have two
sources that say Christopher Shrope of Hunterdon was the son of Johann Christoph
shrope who originated in Oberowisheim Germany and went to holland and then to
america in the 1750's he also had a son Ferdinand , another source says that
Ferdinand is Christopher Shrope's father and came from France, is there anyway
to tell for sure that Ferdinand is indeed Christopher Shrope's father?
Perhaps Johann Christoph had a brother also named Ferdinand who also came to
america with him? I guess this will require more research, i just want to get it
right. Confused, teresa.
