Jackie, Don't know if this info will be of any help, but I recalled the name
Bellesfelt from a transcription that I made, and Jan Raub Reuther posted on
her site. It's a transcription of an article that Henry Race, MD wrote for "The
Jerseyman" (an early publication of the Hunt. Hist. Soc.). The title,
"Colonial Naturalization, 1713-1772".

There are 5 BELLESFELT's on the list...William (8 July 1730); Adam, Johan
William, and Peter (all 8 Dec 1744), and finally Johannes (29 May 1756).
Naturalization was not required of those of English, Irish or Scottish descent.
Requirements were ownership of 100 acres of land, or a personal estate of 50 pounds.

Here's the url for the page:

There are a LOT of Hunterdon names on this list, so others may want to take a
look.

Happy Hunting, Wendy
