Gary, Marfy, and any one else interested,
I recently discovered that I, too, am a descendant of Alburtus Myers. Not
through Cornelius but through another son, John, born 8 Jan 1789, died 16
May 1879, who married Elizabeth Fox on 7 Mar 1814. I was wondering if you
had any additional information on John's line.
Carol

Subject: [NJHUNTER] Cornelius Myers, Duckworth, Hann, Mason
Marfy and interested parties,
This is an offshoot from the *Duckworth/Bellesfelt* line of e-mails
regarding *Cornelius Myers* born 11-18-1796 in Hunterdon Co.
Cornelius' grandson, *Charles Blood Myers* married *Henrietta Duckworth*.
Cornelius *Myres' *birth* *was the first entry into the *Myers family
bible*.
Cornelius was the seventh of eight children born to *Alburtis Myers* and
*Anna Hann*.
He married *Rebecca Mason* on 9-12-1818 in Hunt'don co. They had seven
children that I am aware of: Albert(my line), Edward, MaryAnn, Hannah,
Henrietta,
Rebecca, and James.
Any help on the following would be appreciated:
I believe the following may be my Cornelius.
*"MYERS, Cornelius* Birth Date: 179? Birth Place: New Jersey,
Volume: 123 Page Number: 166 Biographical Info: War 1812
Reference: Records of the officers and men of NJ. In wars 1791-1815.
Trenton, NJ. 1909. (369p.):163"
This may or may not be my Cornelius. I know he had at least 2 sons born
in New York, so that increases the likelihood that it is.
"*Cornelius Myers* Rank: Private County: Rensselaer Co.
Annual Allowance: 39 30 Sums received: 98 25
Description of service:New York militia
When placed on the pension roll: August 12, 1833
Commencement of pension: March 4, 1831"
In the 1830 census he was living in the Amwell Twp.
In 1840 he was in Delaware Twp. Died in 1843.
Also, Cornelius' father Alburtis was born in 1751 in Amwell Twp.
I'm wondering if one of the following Cornelius's may be his brother.
"MYERS, Cornelius * Birth Date: 175? * Birth Place: New Jersey,
Volume: 123 Page Number: 166 Biographical Info: priv.
Reference: Official reg. Of officers and men of NJ. In the Rev. War.
Ed. By Will. S. Stryker. Trenton, NJ. 1872. (878p.):700"
"MYERS, Cornelius *Birth Date:175?* Birth Place: New York
Volume: 123 Page Number: 166
Reference: Heads of Fams. at the first U.S. census. NY.
By U.S. Bureau of the Census. Washington, 1908. (308p.):37, 140"
Thank you,
Gary Myers
