Dear Marfy,
Dave is quite right that Lester was the son of Manning Force Sherman
and his first wife Amy Catherine Bellis. Manning later married Edith Horne and
had five more children---an unamed baby girl, Jeremiah Sherman (died as an
infant), Norman Sherman, Paul Q. Sherman and Margaret Sherman.
Manning was the brother of George R. Sherman and also the brother of
my grandfather, Stacy G. Sherman.
George and Sarah Maust had only two daughters , Edna Blanche Sherman
and Katherine (Katie) Sherman. Edna married Jacob B. Risler and was Mildred's
mother. Katie Sherman married George Marshall and lived for a number of
years in Frenchtown.
