Lucinda Myers and Samuel Davenport had another daughter, Amy Elizabeth
Davenport, born 2 January 1845, married 4 June 1840 to William Elias Haver.
She died 23 November 1908 and is buried in Locust Grove Cemetery with her
husband. They lived in Franklin Twp and had 11 children including a first
born, Ellsworth Haver, who died at age 4 and was the first burial in the
"new" Locust Grove Cemetery. This is not our family, but I did a little
research for my husband's uncle by marriage whose family lived in Franklin
Twp for almost 200 years. The Myers, Fox, Coles, Davenport and older Haver
information was given to me by Richard Reger who has been actively
researching Lucinda Myers Davenport's ancestry for several years.

Quakertown has three cemeteries, two in excellent condition. It is a shame
to see what has become of the Nixon Craven Burying Ground. We need a program
in NJ similar to Adopt-A-Highway called Adopt-A-Cemetery where care would be
provided to non-incorporated cemeteries by removing weeds and finding stones
that have been covered by earth in the 20th century. It isn't enough to
transcribe the inscriptions. Until Locust Grove was founded, the
Nixon-Craven families provided an area where Quakertown families who were
not Quakers, could bury their dead. This is why most of the Methodists were
buried there, and the Baptists were buried in Cherryville Cemetery adjacent
to the Cherryville Baptist church and the Presbyterians were buried in Mt.
Pleasant. A history of the Quakertown United Methodist Church, founded 1836,
was written by Kenneth V. Myers, a Hunterdon Co historian, for their 150th
anniversary celebration in 1986 and contains some of this information.

It would be interesting to me to have a list of all the children of Samuel
and Lucinda Davenport. I had no idea this couple was of interest to anyone
except Richard and myself. A nice surprise!
