Marfy,

I just double checked the date of marriage for Cornelius and Sarah, and it
is 23 Feb 1803, as per Deats' marriage records and a family Bible record on
file at the HCHS. The family Bible does not list Bernice or Anna as children
of Cornelius and Sarah. I would be interested in learning where you obtained
those names.
It does give a Bernice as Cornelius' mother, another Bernice as his sister
(married to Jacob Hoppock), and a third Bernice as his granddaughter,
through his son, Cornelius who married his cousin, Mary Hoppock (daughter of
Jacob and Bernice Williamson Hoppock.

The oldest Cornelius, who was married to Bernice, died between 29 Oct 1807 &
26 Jan 1808, leaving a will that lists his children. The list is a perfect
match to the Bible record. This will mentions his brother Samuel, and the
"unhappy difference" between them over a land dispute. He requests in the
will that his executors, sons William, Cornelius, and Asher continue the
effort to obtain the land that is rightfully his.

It is possible that Cornelius, son of Samuel, is the one who married the
Sara Gulick mentioned in "Gulicks of the USA", page 15. I have no proof of
that but I do know that his brother, Peter, married Charity Gulick, Sara's
sister. I have also seen that some researchers have this Cornelius married
to Steyntie DeMott, but I haven't seen any sources to back that up. It is
also possible that the same Cornelius was married to both women. I don't
have a wife entered for this Cornelius, because I haven't found anything
conclusive yet.

As for the Buchanan burials in Locktown. They are in the churchyard on the
corner of Locktown Serg. Rd & Locktown-Flem. Rd., attached to the church
(currently Presbyterian) of the same place. Catharine's sister, Sarah Ann
Williamson Carrell is also there with husband, Samuel, and several children.
