Thomas Fritts, born 1822 to Morris M. Fritts and Cornelia Lunger had sisters
Rachel, Mary, and Margaret; brothers Frederick, Henry, Calvin, William,

his Descendants" which I found in the Dover, NJ, public library. I didn't
have Thomas' wife; thank you.

Searching for SARAH LANCE, wife of Thomas FRITTS, I found the following
information on Ancestry.
In the 1860 NJ Census for Somerset, Bedmister, I found Thomas, then 37 with
Sarah, 35 and their children John 17, Nathan, 13, Mary Ann 8 and Enoch 4.On
this census Thomas has $9,000 in land value and $1,000 cash
Curious who might be living around the family I went back to the 1850 census
for Lebanon and found
Thomas and Sarah with John then 7 and Nathan 11. Further up the same page I
found: NATHAN LANCE 31 with wife Margaret 29, a Mary C 1/12 and Mary LANCE 62
whom I think is Nathan's mother. Also is Morris Fritts agae 11. All this on
page 32. On page 31 I found Ambrose Fritts, Fredrick Fritts. On page 30 therei
s Wm Fritts with Zilpah or Zilvah.
Checking the 1840 cnssus for Hunterson, Bannets Bangore wI find Wm Fritts,
Jacob Fritts with Mary Lance a widow, and Fredrick LANCE and Thomas FRITTS.
In the 1830 Hunterdon Lebanon Census I find
PETER LANCE. There is one male 50- 0 years and one male 60 to 70 years. No
famales are listed.
Just down from PETER LANCE's listing I find Frederick LANCE with one male 5
or under, one male 10 to 15, one male 30 to 40. Also listed are two females
under five years, two females 5to 10 and one female 30 to 40. On the same page
I find THOMAS FRITTS with one male under 5 and one male 10 to 15 and one male
30 to 40.
So, where does SARAH LANCE, born 1843, fit into the LANCE family?
Using NATHAN LANCE and his family as a sign post I find only one in my data
base. NATHAN LANCE born Feb 25 1820 and husband of MARGARET Unknown. And I
have one daughter, MARY C so it appears a match.
Nathan's father was WILLIAM LANCE, Feb 28, 1787 was husband to Mary ANTONE
or ANTHONY born May 26 1788. In the 1850 census Nathan has a "MARY LANCE, age
62 living with him. Once again there appears to be a match as MARY ANTONY's
date of birth fits with the age of the Mary listed in the 1850 census.
William's father was PETER LANCE who was born Juily 11, 1760. In the 1830
census for Hunterdon we find a PETER LANCE who was married to ANNIE HOFFMAN.
There are two males here, one 50 to 60 and one 60 to 70. Peter. In the 1830
census Peter LANCE would have been aged about 70 years.
I think it likely that SARAH LANCE was a daughter of WILLIAM LANCE who was
husband of MARY ANTHONY or ANTONY.
It's late here but there is much more to do before confirmation on this.
Still it may be the FRITTS family can shed light on the earlier generations of
my LANTZ - LANCE line.
