Sharilyn,
I just got off the phone with the N.J. Historical Society. They just copied
a book for me. You can look up on their site to see if they have that doc in
their collection or just call them. Then # is 973-596-6954 and when the
machine answers punch in ext. 973. You don't have to wait for the recording to
finish. Just key in the extension #. Then tell them what you want. If they
have your documents. ask if they are type set as this is cheeper to have
copied. If they scan it, it is more expensive and more time consuming. The reason
I say call is because they don't answer their e-mails very promptly or at all
some times. I hac been waiting since April and finally called yesterday and
my doc's are on the way today. Fast if you get their attention. For a copy
that is not scanned it is .35 a sheet and they will take a credit card over the
phone. Or you can send a check.
If they don't have it you can e-mail The New Jersey Archives, Bette
Epstine, and she is very prompt about answering her e-mails. I wrote to her
yesterday and she answered me 2 times during the day and sent the doc. I was looking
for. You get free copies for up to 3 pages. I have also tryed to call them and
they respond quickly to a request by phone too.
So now you know my secret. Ann Brown
