Roz,
I'm sorry. I got confused & thought your question was about the PRALL line
instead of the Samuel & Eleanor (Barber) Holcombe. As far as I can tell, of
their 9 children, only the family of Richard & Elijah moved further away from
the Hunterdon County, NJ & Bucks County,PA area.
The two eldest of Elijah's 8 children, John Brittain & Joseph, died in
Deavertown, York Township, Morgan County, OH, in 1845 & 1855, respectively. But
the next child in line died back in NJ. I don't have that information for the
rest. Elijah's wife, Mary (Brittain) Holcombe died Muskingum County, OH in
1824. She is buried in the "Holcombe Church Cemetery, Deavertown, OH." The first
son, John Brittain is buried in "Baptist Cemetery, Deavertown OH" These
cemeteries may be something you can follow-up on. But it is obvious that the
family did leave the OH area at some point because Elijah himself died back in
Hunterdon County, NJ in 1845 & is burried there.
As for Richard, he is born, marries, dies (1835) & is buried in NJ. He has 7
children with Hannah Emley. All except #4 & #7 are born in Amwell Township,
Hunterdon County, NJ. Of course, they may have also been born there, but I
don't have that detail for them. Richard & Hannah's 3rd child, Luicillia
marries her first cousin, Joseph Holcombe, son of Elijah & Mary (above). They were
married in NJ & the first 7 of their 8 children were born in Lambertville.
Their last child, Eliza was born on July 23, 1818 in Deavertown, York Township,
Morgan County, OH. Both Lucillia & Joseph are buried in OH. She is buried in
the Holcombe Church Cemetery, but I don't know about him. I can only assume
that he is.
I hope this is of some help to you. I may have some new information shortly
as someone is sending me something on this line. If I find something new I'll
let you know. I see there is an email from you. You probably think I'm
strange. Talking about BELLES instead of HOLCOMBE as you asked. Let me know if any
of this was useful to you. If nothing else, it's long enough to keep you
busy!
We'll talk soon,
Ana
