Subject: Lookup offer - eclectic mix of resources

Dear Hunterdon researchers:

I just wanted to let you know about some of the resources that I own, and I wanted to offer to do specific lookups for anyone who might need one.

If you require a lookup, please email me privately, and I will endeavour to get back to you as soon as possible. Also, please read to the end of this posting for an example of what I am offering.

My primary research interests are in Hunterdon and Mercer Counties, New Jersey and Bucks Co., Pennsylvania. I own numerous books relating to these counties. I will list these in a separate posting.

Other resources of mine include:

New York

I own Henry Z. Jones, Jr.'s three volumes on the Palatines. These were Germans who migrated primarily to New York, but many moved on to Hunterdon Co. I also have another volume entitled 'Early Germans of New Jersey' by Theodore F. Chambers.

Connecticut

I own Vols 1 & 2 of 'The Memorial History of Hartford County Connecticut', if anyone needs a lookup.

I also have a rather useless book on Tolland Co., Connecticut. It hasn't helped me yet, but maybe there's something in there for someone.

Scotland and Ireland

I am a member of the Aberdeen & NE Scotland Family History Society. I may be able to help you with advice on Scottish ancestors.

I also have research interests in Co. Donegal, Ireland and would be happy to discuss (the dearth of) information about Ireland.

Individual families

I own volumes on the Hampton (of Hunterdon Co.), Bugbee and Lockwood families.

Ancestry.com

I also subscribe to Ancestry.com and would be happy to do a short search on there for you.

I will not do a blanket search, but I am happy to look for specific things. For example, if you ask me to find Benjamin Moulton in the 1860 census in New Jersey, I will gladly do that. But I won't look through every book I own for any mention of Moultons. If you are not specific, I reserve the right to ignore your email. I'm sure you'll understand.

I hope some of you find this helpful. Please let me know whether any of our genealogical explorations overlap.

Cheers,
Mary Jo C. Martin
