Hi Roz,
I think you are right that Bray sold the 8.5 acres to Job Emans/Emmons, who
sold same to John Woolverton. And since Woolverton was buying a lot of land
in the general neighborhood, it seems likely he added a little to the
8.5when he sold to Isaac Rittenhouse. The fact that Rittenhouse
referred to a
meadow lot in his will seems to confirm this theory--a piece of land without
a house on it.
As to why these deeds showed up in Ohio, it really is a mystery, but seems
to have something to do with Isaac's brother William. Can't explain it
though.
By the way, I apologize for my weird typos. I reread my message and was a
little appalled.
