Poultry Mgr. at Kerr Hatchery.
"In 1907, Richard W. Kerr founded Kerr Chickeries, part of a spectacular
rise in the poultry industry in Hunterdon County. Chicken coops still remain
around town, reminding visitors of the past. Rightly so, for Mr. Kerr is
known for two major innovations: the artificial insemination of hens and the
identification of chick gender." [Don't have the source in my notes, but it
was likely the History of Frenchtown. Richard W. Kerr was Mayor of
Frenchtown, 1920-21]

Subject: [NJHUNTER] CONNER 1930 Census
I found a David CONNER in the 1930 Census age 54 and living in Alexandria
with his wife was Ella, age 53.
I had a tremendous deal of difficulty making out his occupation. I finally
decided that it had something to do with poultry?
Does anyone know of any poultry operations that would have been in
existence during this time frame? I know it seems like a crazy question, but
I would like to know some more about this David Conner.
Thank you,
Dan Conner
