John,
Yes, indeed --- After three years of waiting, the WWI Draft Registration
Card collection is now complete on Ancestry.com as of Veterans Day. The
related search engine is very flexible. You can either search (using
limited criteria and/or wildcard), or browse by locality. I've been a
member of Ancestry for over five years now, and generally pleased with the
service. However, I would caution against a subscription to One World Tree
(OWT). The "stitching" technology used creates many false family linkages.
In my opinion, OWT is a substandard database. Before signing up with
Ancestry, you may wish to check your county library or a good research
library. Many of them have Ancestry Plus onsite, without charge to users.
This will give you an opportunity to try before you buy.
If you would like me to search the WWI database for your ancestor, please
contact me privately. Include as much as you know about that individual.
Happy Holidays,
Beverly
