There is an old story in the Robert Stewart family that Robert Stewart, Sr.
of Bucks County and then Sussex County (now Warren) was married to Sarah
Johnston. We have been unable to prove that at all. Sarah's dates are 1727 to
1794 and she is buried in the Greenwich Cemetery along with her husband. They
are parents of Robert Stewart. Jr., who married Mary Stewart; Margaret who
married Thomas Kennedy, Esq.; Sarah who married William Kennedy; Thomas who
married Rachel Dewesse; Ann who married James Armstrong and Jane who married John
Kelly.
Do you know if this Johnston family had a Sarah?
