Their were a ton of Phoebe or Phebe Rightmire's...Including one in Loudoun
Virginia who married John Spencer a land speculator some time around
1800...The Phoebe of the Tompkins County New York will (on their
genweb )says she was a daughter of James Rightmire and her brother James
Rightmire was holding her inheritance for her in New Jersey...in the will
she names a number of namesakes for herself and wants them to have money to
buy silver spoons...It is an interesting will. I have a reply from one of
my Rightmire researchers who has a Burt Rightmire....He is from my
line...but his Burt lived in Tioga County Pa after the civil war and died in
Chemung Co New York...he attached a picture and some more info...so I can't
send it to the list but will send to your home email if you would like.
Most of the descendents of my 3rd Grt Grandfather James and Elizabeth
"Daugherty" Rightmire either stayed in Ohio or went west further...this is
the only one from this line I can recall ending up in Pa and NY at least
this late into the 1800's ..... Alice
