Do you have any information on the parents of Ellen Girling? I have a great
aunt, Ellen Girling, daughter of James Barry Girling, but she was born in
1856 so was the next generation after yours. James Barry, my great
grandfather, had an uncle William Girling, married to Susanna but we have no
record of any offspring of this marriage. Unfortunately, my father did a
lot of research on his direct line, but did not include any lateral
relationships.

Ellen GIRLING Niece U 14 F Farmers Daughter
Scarning-Norfolk

This information, from the 1851 census record sent by Bob, would certainly
link your Ellen to my family, as three generations of my Girlings are buried
in the churchyards in Scarning.

If you can link this up, I can send you all kinds of information about later
Girlings.

Cheers, and Happy Easter to all.
