In New Hampshire an area is called a town, rather than township. In the
town is a town, village, or city by that name, but there can also be
other towns in the 'town'. Talk about a genealogical headache! I
tussled with that one until we actually went there and drove the roads.
Each 'town' is about 6 miles x 6 miles, not unlike townships in other
states.
