Gerry, the answer is simple. A section, according to Sissel's information,
is 640 acres. Take a square and divide it into four equal squares. Each
square is 640/4, or 160 acres, and has a name--North-West, North-East,
South-West, South-East. Your ggrandfather had parts of the 2 East quarters,
but not all of them. Divide North-East and South-East into 4 equal squares.
Each of these squares will be 40 acres. Your grandfather had the southwest
portion of the North-East quarter, and the northwest portion of the
South-East quarter. 2 portions, each at 40 acres = 80 acres. You should be
able to find the exact plot of land which your ggrandfather received.
Perhaps there is evidence of his buildings still remaining.
