I am not saying that the newsgroup is always better, but in this instance
she had already requested information on our list. I thought that exposure
to the newsgroup would be more productive. More people monitor the
newsgroup than the list.

The thing about the nordic newsgroup is that you usually have to ask a
specific question to get an answer. If you say Ole Olsen was born 24 May
1777 on Liberget farm in Hoff, Hedmark you may get an answer. If you say
my gggreat grandfather was born in 1777 in Norway and moved to Wisconsin
where he died in 1860, can anyone tell me anything about him you will hear
nothing. I figure that only one request in 20 will result in a hit anyway.
